Here are some of our current residents.
Those who are available for re-homing are marked - perhaps you could consider giving them a loving new home? If you are interested then please contact us. It is useful if you use our online pre-adoption form as it tells us a little bit about your needs, experience and circumstances. Bertie and Bassett

Bertie and Bassett

BERTIE and BASSETT are two lovely litter brothers, aged approximately 14 weeks old. They were found abandoned, so we don't know their exact age. They are very sweet, friendly and loving rabbits - and very handsome too! They must stay together as they adore each other. Don't forget - rabbits can live until they are 14 years old, if you can't make such a long commitment please don't get a rabbit.

Posy and Petal

Posy and Petal

POSY (brown) and PETAL (white and brown) are 16 week old litter sisters. They are very friendly rabbits who came into Pipkin Rabbit Rescue after rough handling from the 2 year old child in their previous home - a very good example as to why rabbits and young children are not a good mix. Understandably, they were a little nervous at first, but they are now friendly and inquisitive bunnies. They must stay together as they adore each other. Don't forget - rabbits can live until they are 14 years old, if you can't make such a long commitment please don't get a rabbit.

Sophie (and family)

SophieSophie's baby

SOPHIE and her 4 babies are adorable! Sophie was taken in as a heavily pregnant stray by a very kind rabbit lover. Sophie is a brilliant mam and her babies are growing like weeds! They are not ready for rehoming yet, but if you are interested please email me. The babies will be rehomed in pairs. Don't forget - rabbits can live until they are 14 years old, if you can't make such a long commitment please don't get a rabbit.

Mork and Mindy

Mork

Mork and Mindy are two beautiful pink-eyed seal point rabbits, probably litter brother and sister. We estimate them to be about 6 or 7 months of age. They are so sweet and affectionate. Mindy is almost certainly pregnant, so they need to stay with us until we are either certain she isn't going to have babies, or if she does have babies, until the babies are ready for rehoming. If you are interested in these gorgeous buns please email me. They must stay together as they adore each other. Don't forget - rabbits can live until they are 14 years old, if you can't make such a long commitment please don't get a rabbit.

Bluebell

Bluebell

BLUEBELL has had a terrible time over the first month or so she was with us. She was found with a lot of milk in her teats, but no sign of any babies - goodness only knows what had been done to the babies before abandoning Bluebell. She was distraught for a few days, as she desperately missed her babies and she also developed mastitis and was in a lot of pain and discomfort with that. A few days after being found she had to have a dental under general anaesthetic, and then two weeks after this she had 3 still born babies - she must have been a few days pregnant when found, and our vet says the anaesthetic will have harmed the babies. She was very thin, but her pregnancy couldn't be detected during a physical examination unfortunately. She is gradually regaining her body weight now, and is a very, very cheeky rabbit. She will stay with us as a house rabbit, but she would love some sponsors and pawpals.

Mary Mungo and Midge

Mary and MidgeMungo

Mary, Mungo and Midge are father, son and daughter! Mungo is dad, he is an agouti coloured lop eared bun and has a wonderfully sweet nature. At the moment he is still taking excellent care of Mary and Midge. Mary is an agouti girl and Midge is a blonde boy. They are sweet and confident little buns. They are not ready for rehoming yet, but if you are interested in them please email me. Don't forget, rabbits can live for 14 years.

Cookie

Cookie

COOKIE is an adorable dwarf lop. He was picked up as a stray so we don't know how old he is, but I would estimate he is about 1 year old. When he was found he had to have a dental under general anaesthetic due to spurs on his back teeth, so it is quite probable that he will need dental treatment throughout his life. Don't forget, rabbits can live for 14 years.

Bonnie and Clyde

BonnieClyde

Bonnie and Clyde are 6 year old brother and sister buns. Clyde is neutered, he can be a little bit nervous but Bonnie is very nervous and this shows as agression. She will need a patient and experienced owner to give her the love and time that she needs to build her confidence up. Bonnie and Clyde muct be rehomed together.Bonnie is in the top photo, and Clyde is the bottom bun! Don't forget, rabbits can live till they are 12 to 14 years old.

Star

Star

STAR is a four year old female who came to us along with her son, Bramble, from a lovely home where due to circumstances they could no longer give these two lovely rabbits the time they need. At the moment Star is a little bit wary of being handled. She is a BIG rabbit (not really suitable for handling by small children)! Star has really bonded with Morag and Bigwig and the three buns are never very far from each other, often to be seen in a big heap, snoozing in the sun! She will stay with her two friends.

Flora with Milly and Lucy

FloraMilly and Lucy

Flora is a lovely girl. She is a little bit shy, I think in the past she has been mishandled, but she does enjoy a cuddle. She is blind and needs to have an unchanging environment, so she will stay with us, along with her "guide pigs for the blind" who she gets on very well with. She was picked up as a stray, so we don't know her age. The guinea pigs are mother and daughter. Milly is 11 months old, and her daughter Lucy is 5 months old. The piggies immediately run to Flora if they are unsure of anything, and they all sleep together.

Pipkin

Pipkin

PIPKIN was picked up as a stray in September 2006, dangerously underweight and very close to death. All of her bones were visible and our vet estimated that she was only one third of her ideal body weight.

Hazel

Hazel

On the same day, HAZEL was also picked up as a stray, and put in the same run as Pipkin, where she immediately began to keep her warm and washed - if it hadn't been for Hazel I'm not sure that Pipkin would have recovered. They now have a very close bond and Pipkin has gained weight. Pipkin is a friendly, outgoing rabbit and has given shy Hazel more confidence around people.

my gallery

Biscuit

Biscuit

BISCUIT was picked up as a stray in late October 2006. He was a little bit underweight, but soon gained that. Until his neutering operation took effect he had to be kept separate from the girls, so he used to come into the house and follow the dogs and cats around! He is a very friendly boy. He is in his element now, sharing a run with Pipkin, Hazel and Misty.

my gallery

Bigwig

Bigwig

BIGWIG turned up in a Sunderland garden in late May 2007. When nobody claimed him he was brought to us. At the moment he is in plaster due to a broken leg, but hopefully by the end of June he won't need anymore treatment for his leg. He also had to have dental work when he first came to us, and soon found his appetite afterwards! He is a very friendly and affectionate boy who will sit up on his hind legs to paw at your knee until he is picked up for a cuddle! Bigwig is now very happily not in plaster and has made great friends with Morag and Star. The three of them love to lie together in the sun, grooming each other and snoozing - they are not very active!

Morag

Morag

MORAG was a loved family pet for two years, until the children of the family grew bored with her. Goodness knows why, as she is the sweetest, cuddliest bun you are ever likely to meet. Always ready for a cuddle and to have her ears scritched, she is one of the friendliest bunnies I have ever met. She has formed a brilliant friendship with Bigwig and Star and the three buns love to lie together either sleeping or grooming each other.
